Description
Mexican Petunia, native to Mexico, Western South America and the Antilles, is a hardly perennial for flower beds and colorful ground-cover. The wild form was
introduced to Florida in the 1940's and since has naturalized in most counties in Florida, plus six other southern states, Hawaii, Puerto Pico and the Virgin Islands.
I have Mexican petunias growing wild around my house... they are lovely when in bloom. Taken in Mims, Florida.
