I took this photo of the Hong Kong Orchid in my back yard. The orchid-like flower is fragrant and blooms almost all year round. It has pod like buds and bright purplish red flowers.

The Hong Kong Orchid tree and the leaves are regarded as a symbol of wisdom. Some people use the leaves to make bookmarks in the hope that they will bring them good luck in their studies. The leaves are double-lobed similar in shape to the heart or butterfly. In Hong Kong it is known as the " Clever Leaf ".
