Completing Grace Teapot and Crocheted Doily
This is the first of a three part series memorializing the life of my mom Grace who was the inspiration in my life for more than just her artistic talents. The series starts off at the end of her life and moves backwards to her beginnings. It's not only a story about one woman show is surrounding herself in a small world with what she loves and appreciates, but the story of all women who create a home with their love. I compare my mom to the multitude of women today and in the past that put great pride into their handwork from their daily lives without ever knowing how truly special they are.
I made this out of reclaimed wood and crocheted doily to set on. LED lights on the inside, over front door and in the wood burning stove inside.
The inside area where grandma sits is only 4 x 5 inches and grandma is only 3 inches tall.
