About Louise Hill
Hello, my name is Louise Hill and I'm passionate about Florida landscape photography. Living near the Kennedy Space Center and the Canaveral National Seashore are constant sources of inspiration: the ocean, the sky, clouds, sunsets, sunrises, trees and vegetation, and the architecture that coexists and interfaces with nature. In my work I stress colors, textures and a focus on details. I try to achieve a well-composed picture that invites the viewer to enter the scene and experience the pristine feel and the colorful delicacy of nature.
Bio
Michigan born and raised. Last thirty years living and loving landscape photography in the sunshine State of Florida.
My first camera was a box camera, then a Kodak Brownie and at some point I lost track of how many types of cameras I owned between that first box camera until I began college. College gave me my first experience with the 35mm SLR camera, with the added excitement of dark room for developing. That thrill of involvement in various aspects of photography was short-lived though, since I decided to pursue a degree in graphic design.
The graphic design program provided me with a wonderful learning opportunity in painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking besides some more photography. After graduation my love for all mediums led me onto a mixed-media path but I soon discovered the frustration of depending on someone else to photograph my finished 3-D designs. What started out as a necessity ended up becoming a passion. I became obsessed with learning all I could about cameras and processing. Then my Nikon, Photoshop and Lightroom became my fest friends.
Although I still do projects in mixed media I spend the majority of my creative time taking pictures and I also continue learning from online photography classes and by being out in the field. Experience is really the best teacher and by practicing what I have learned I make sure the finished product is of the highest quality in resolution, color and composition. I will never grow tried of the beauty the State of Florida has to offer. Exploring it's picturesque vistas from my own outlook, I want to show and share it with the world.
